It all began a few years ago with a book, a glass of wine, and a need for a little escape.
That evening reminded me why I love reading — and before long, it had grown into a never-ending TBR pile. What started as a way to step away from reality soon became a dream of finding someone to share and talk about the stories I loved.
From that spark, Boozy Books was born — a welcoming space for women across the UK to connect, explore books together, and enjoy laughter-filled, meaningful moments.
Over time, this small passion project has blossomed into a vibrant community where friendships flourish, ideas are shared, and every gathering feels like coming home. I’ve met women who found comfort in books during quiet or challenging moments, those who reignited their love of reading, and women who discovered connections as magical as the stories we treasure.
Boozy Books is for women who want more than just a book club. It’s for those who seek conversation, friendship, and shared experiences — a safe, inclusive environment where you can relax, belong, and connect with others who love reading as much as you do. Whether you’re a lifelong reader or just discovering your next favourite book, there is a place here for you.
Our community comes alive through regional Sip & Stories meet-ups, where women gather to chat, laugh, and connect over books, as well as Beyond the Book events, including group activities, days out, and seasonal gatherings. Our regional groups were created to help young adults in their 20s and 30s find their people, providing a welcoming space for those who may feel lonely or want to share their love of reading. Alongside this, our growing online community now supports and connects women of all ages across the UK, offering opportunities to share stories, inspire one another, and celebrate reading together. Each month, carefully chosen books guide discussions and activities, giving members a chance to connect, reflect, and create meaningful memories.
Life can feel isolating at times, and finding meaningful connections as an adult isn’t always easy. Meet the Founder
Jade Louise
Hi, I’m Jade Louise. If you’ve read our story above, you’ll know that Boozy Books began with a book, a bottle of wine, and a night where I simply needed a little escape from reality. Since picking up It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover, I was hooked — and rediscovered my love for reading all over again.
These days, I mostly reach for romance and fantasy novels (though I’ll happily wander into other genres when the mood strikes). Some of my favourite authors include Lauren Asher, Sarah Adams, and Rebecca Yarros — to name just a few of the many who have filled my shelves and heart.
Building this book club and community has truly been a dream come true. Watching women across the UK connect through a shared love of reading, hearing how books have offered comfort during hard times, and seeing members step out of their comfort zones to join our meet-ups — it’s been the most rewarding experience.
Boozy Books has grown far beyond what I ever imagined, and it’s still only the beginning. I can’t wait to see where this community goes next, and to share each new chapter with all of you.
